Thich Nhat Hanh

Thich Nhat Hanh is a Zen master in the Vietnamese tradition, scholar, poet, and peace activist. He is the founder of the Van Hanh Buddhist University in Saigon and has taught at Columbia University and the Sorbonne. Thich Nhat Hanh is the author of the national bestseller Living Buddha, Living Christ and over 60 other books. For his peacemaking efforts during the Vietnam War, Thich Nhat Hanh was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1967 by Martin Luther King Jr. He recounts how he and his fellow monks and nuns found refuge during those difficult times by creating a “monastery without walls” known today as “engaged Buddhism.”
