This page is intended to familiarize you with how we do
business at Four Gates.
Domestic and International customers are encouraged to read
over this page thoroughly and the three linked pages which have
been created to provide full support for customer service questions
asked most often.
What is your return or exchanges policy? For a complete

page. This information will appear on the back side of your invoice.

For all Shipping questions
see this linked page. To get a shipping quote before placing
an order, proceed as though you were ordering. In other words, place
a mock order as though you are going to complete an on-line order.
After selecting the item(s), click check out. Then, the first screen
asks for name, address, phone, etc. this allows you to proceed to
the second screen which will give you the total with shipping depending
upon your preference of arrival time.. The second screen will give
any selections from ground, 3rd day, 2nd day or next day air. If
you paying with a money order or cashier's check, as opposed to
an on-line order, then, print and send this second shopping cart
page with the payment. We do not provide phone quotes for shipping.
What credit cards to you accept? We accept Visa and Master
Card. Bank debit cards are also accepted.
Can I pay by personal check, money order or cashier's check?
You can purchase by using a money order or cashier's check, but
we do not accept personal checks. If you cannot use a credit
card we prefer that you make purchases by cashier's check or money
order. Payment is accepted in US funds only.
Here is how to make a an order without a credit card: Place
a mock order by going through our catalog, making your selections
using the shopping cart as though ordering with a credit card. After
completing the contact information page, you will go to the second
screen with gives all the shipping preferences. After selecting
you shipping method, then print the page (just before the credit
card page displays). This will give you totals. Then you can mail
the printed copy of the order and payment to the address at the
bottom of the page Very important. We do not regularly ship to
PO Boxes because shipping is handled through FedEx air and ground
who do not deliver to PO Boxes.
When placing an order be sure to include a full address,
phone number and e-mail address and method of delivery. Delivery
services do not ship to a PO Box. Military personnel be sure to
use the proper codes for delivery on bases.
If there is a problem with the order, such as, invalid card
number, bad addresses or the like, then orders will be held until
these issues are resolved with the customer.
Special orders, custom order and back orders can take 2-6
weeks, depending upon the item. Long lead time items are usually
noted as such.
Order cancellations? Once an order is placed, and if a cancellation
takes place, a restock charge of 10% applies to cover our transaction
costs.
Do you have a retail store that I can visit? No. We are
an on-line and mail order catalog based company.
Do you offer a catalog? We do not offer a catalog.
After providing catalogs for many years, we found that national
averages of 1-2 orders per 100 catalogs mailed was simply too financially
and environmentally wasteful. Further, we believe that the serious
threat of global warming makes is imperative for conscientious business
not to contribute to deforestation through printing catalogs. Please
shop on-line for greater convenience. If you do not own a computer
almost every library,school, business and church has several. You
are always welcome to order over the phone during regular business
hours, 8am-5pm, PST, M-F.
Do you have order minimums? We have a $25.00 minimum for
domestic and a $30.00 minimum for international orders, not including
shipping and handling.
Is
ordering on-line safe and secure? Yes. FourGates.com use secure
site technology for our customers security. We are committed to
protecting your information from unauthorized third parties. We
use Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt the personal
and credit card information you provide us when you order online.
SSL is a security standard supported by Interland and Miva shopping
cart secure servers. Once you enter the shopping cart, you are then
transacting on the secure server and your credit card number and
other personal information is taking place in an encrypted environment.
It is not sent anywhere, since we access the encrypted server to
retrieve it. Doing business over the Internet is even more secure
than purchasing by telephone, especially if you use a cellular or
portable phone. In addition, all personal and credit card information
is stored in a secured database behind a firewall. We use secure
web pages to take all orders and to display ordering information.
What about credit card fraud protection? We have not had any
customer report unauthorized use of a credit card number used on our
website. Your credit card company can only hold you liable for up to
$50.00 of fraudulent charges. FourGates.com is as concerned about your
protection since we respect everyone's rights to privacy and security
equally.
Do you sell wholesale? Yes. Wholesale inquiries must include
a state tax resale number, full business name, owner or purchasing
agent name, retail shipping address(No PO Boxes please), phone and
fax number. Provide a description of your business and what products
you are interested in purchasing.
Can I save more if buying for a group or in quantify of a single
item? Yes, on a limited basis some products will qualify if the
quantity is large enough. Contact us via e-mail with the quantity needed
and your affiliation.
Prices on products and shipping are subject to change without notice.
We will let you know when you order if a price has changed.
Errors in pricing or typographical errors take place from time
to time. If there is a discrepancy or typographical error in relation
to pricing, or other information, please bring it to our attention for
correction. However, if an item has been taken off of the sale list
and we inadvertently did not correct the posted price vs. the correct
price in the shopping cart, we reserve the right to correct it prior
to completing the transaction. You will be contacted first before processing
the order.
Who is Four Gates? Our name Four Gates refers to the four indispensable
qualities called the "Four Immeasurables" in Buddhism (Brahma Vihara,
Sanskrit). The translation is, "divine states of dwelling."
The "Four Gates", when lived fully, establish the
foundation for happier, healthier living, and an enlightened society.

We believe these qualities are indispensable for a good and
happy life. These qualities are the antidote, the cure all so
deeply needed in our modern life. If we can practice giving these
four good qualities as blessings during prayer, meditation and throughout
