One definition of Meditation is the sacred art of cultivating the mind to living in the present moment, or being mindful from moment to moment. In daily practice sessions, we endevor to bring our attention to the present moment with the intention of training our mind to become positive, full of clarity, insight and focus. If we then cultivate, Bodhicitta, Love and Compassion, Mindfulness, and Wisdom.
Deity practices, involving sacred mantra chanting, visualization and guru yoga, are also available. These focus on enlightened qualities of mind, such as meditation on Manjushri (Wisdom), Medicine Buddha (Healing), Green Tara (Cultivating Fearlessness), or Chenrezig (Cultivating Love and Compassion) or other aspects of our own inner nature, are some methods of achieving greater happiness and well being.
