Is ordering on-line safe and secure? Yes, you are safe. FourGates.com uses secure site technology for our customer's security. We use universally accepted, 128bit encryption, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to protect your personal and credit card information. SSL is a security standard supported by our web hosting company and the shopping cart secure servers. Once you enter the shopping cart, you are then transacting on the secure server and your credit card information is safe.
Studies show that doing business over the internet is far more secure than purchasing at traditional brick and mortar retails stores.
Can I order by telephone?
Yes, but be sure to read over the order minimums(shown on this page), and Shipping, Returns, Terms and conditions pages to insure a satisfactory order experience.
How do I find out how much shipping costs, or get an order total? To get a shipping quote before placing an order, proceed as though you were ordering. In other words, place a mock order as though you are going to complete an on-line order. After selecting the item(s), click check out. Then, the first screen asks for name, address, phone, etc. which allows you to proceed to the second screen which will give you the total for your item including shipping once a method of transit is selected. The second screen will give all selections from USPS priority mail, to USP or FedEx ground, 3rd day, 2nd day or next day air. If you wish to pay with a money order or cashier's check, as opposed to an on-line order, then print and send this second shopping cart page with the payment. Our apologies, but due to limited staff time we cannot provide quotes for shipping costs.
What credit cards to you accept?
We accept American Express, Visa and Master Cards. Bank debit cards are also accepted.
Can I pay by personal check, money order or cashier's check?
If you cannot use a credit card we accept payment in the form of money orders or cashier's checks, but we do not accept personal checks. Payment is accepted in US funds only.
Here is how to make a an order without a credit card:
Place a mock order by going through our catalog, making your selections using the shopping cart. After completing the contact information on the first screen page, you will proceed to the second screen page which shows the shipping selections. Choose your shipping method. After selecting you shipping method, then print the page (just before the third credit card screen page displays). This will give order your total for the order including shipping. At that stage you can mail the printed copy of the order and payment to the address at the bottom of the this page, or the contact us page.
Here is how the Four Gates layaway, installment purchase plan works:
A layaway is an installment payment option for ease of purchase. When using a layaway plan, you pay in full; however the payment is divided into installments. Once the payments are made the order is released for shipment.
We have a $80.00 total minimum order, less shipping. We will bill once a week, every other week or once a month (you let us know which works best for you) for $20.00/month until the $80.00 is reached. Whatever your purchase total is will be divided into (4) equal payments. There is an additional $2.00 per transaction to cover additional credit card transaction fees. The shipping will be billed in the last payment.
If you want to purchase via lay away please do the following:
1. Let us know you would like to create a lay away plan by e-mailing us first so that we understand this needs to be billed in increments.
2. Select your items through the shopping cart by creating an order, complete it and click the checkout, and submit button as usual with your credit card.
3. Save the e-mail confirmation, and print a copy for your records.
4. After the final, fourth payment, we will ship your order once it is paid in full. 5. Layaway orders cannot be canceled without loss of previous payments.
Once you place the order under layaway, you are making a commitment for the entire order. You can however make exchanges under our exchange policy.

What do I need to do when placing a phone order?.
Be prepared to provide all contact information, including a full address, phone number, e-mail address and method of delivery. Only USPS delivers to a PO Box. Military personnel should use use the proper codes for APO or AE for prompt.
What if there is a problem with the order, delay or the other challenge?
If there is a problem with the order, such as an invalid card number, insufficient addresses or the other problem, then orders will be held until these issues are resolved with the customer.
Do you provide special orders?
Some items are special orders, non-stock items or longer lead time because they are manufactured to order. These orders situations will have an note sent off, but if you do not receive it write us. Such items can take 1-4 weeks, depending upon the item. Long lead time items are usually noted as such.
Can I cancel an order once placed?
Once an order is placed, and if a cancellation takes place, a restock charge of 10% applies to cover our transaction costs.
Do you have a retail store that I can visit?
Our apologies but our insurance policy does not allow customers on-site. We are an on-line and mail order catalog based company.
Do you offer a catalog?
At this time we do not offer a hard copy catalog. After providing catalogs for many years, we found that national averages of 1-2 orders per 100 catalogs mailed was simply too financially and environmentally wasteful. Further, we believe that the serious threat of global warming makes is imperative for conscientious business not to contribute to deforestation through printing catalogs. If you do not own a computer almost every library, school, work place and church has several. You are welcome to order over the phone during regular business hours, 8am-7pm, MST, Monday - Saturday.
Do you have order minimums?
We have a $40.00 minimum for domestic telephone order and a $50.00 minimum telephone order for international customers, not including shipping and handling.
Do you sell wholesale?
Yes. Wholesale inquiries must include a state tax resale number, full business name, owner or purchasing agent name, retail shipping address(No PO Boxes please), phone and fax number. Provide a description of your business and what products you are interested in purchasing.
Can I save more if buying for a group or in quantify of a single item?
Yes, some products will qualify if the quantity is large enough. Contact us via e-mail with the quantity needed and your affiliation.
Prices on products and shipping are subject to change without notice.

Four Gates was founded in 1996 to provide meditation, yoga, alternative health care, and education resources for happier, healthier sacred and joyful living. We serve the yoga, spiritual, Buddhist, religious, cultural creative, New Age and all receptive communities at large.
Our mission is to promote your well being through encouraging the development of the "inner life", i.e., meditation, relaxation, yoga, prayer, creating a sacred space, gardening, time for wisdom studies and taking it easy from the spiritual stand point. We believe that to nourish happiness is the best antidote to a world where stress, anger, negative messages, fear and harmful attitudes sometime appear common place. We have an abiding faith in human goodness, and wish to nurture everyone to create sacred spaces in their homes, businesses, offices, retreat centers, churches, spiritual communities, hospitals, prisons and government.
All positive activities when lived fully, establish the foundation for happier, healthier living, and an enlightened society.
